What to Expect During a Re-Roof
Getting a new roof is one of the biggest investments you'll make in your home. Knowing what to expect helps the process go smoothly for everyone.
It starts with an on-site inspection. We'll get up on the roof to assess the condition of the existing material, flashings, and timber framing. We'll also look at the spouting system and check for any issues that need addressing while the roof is off.
From there, we'll provide a detailed written quote covering materials, labour, timeframe, and any additional work needed. No surprises down the track.
Once you're happy to proceed, we'll order materials and schedule the work. Most residential re-roofs take 3–7 working days depending on size and complexity. We'll give you a clear start date and keep you updated if weather causes any changes.
On day one, we set up safety gear, protect your gardens and paths, and begin stripping the old roof. The existing steel, nails, and debris are removed and disposed of responsibly.
With the old roof off, we inspect the timber framing thoroughly. Any rotten or damaged timber is replaced before the new roof goes on. This is a critical step — a new roof on bad framing won't last.
The new steel is then installed with fresh flashings, ridging, and barges. We check every fixing and every lap. At the end of each day, your home is left weathertight — even if the job isn't finished.
Finally, we do a full clean-up. Nails are swept with a magnet, debris is removed, and your property is left the way we found it. We'll walk you through the finished job and hand over warranty documentation.
